Meet Our Cast

Gary Crivellaro (Felix Unger)

Gary is the creator and owner of Main Deck Productions. He  has performed in many Country Gate shows, but is particularly known for his murder mystery appearances. In this season's It’s A Wonderful Life, Gary excelled in the dual roles of Clarence and Uncle Billy “I love to make people laugh and escape the real world once in a while.”

Scott Crivellaro (Speed)

Scott is First Mate in his Dad’s (Gary) Main Deck Productions company.   He’s been a familiar face at CGP for many years. He did an excellent job in portraying the detective in our recent production of Mainstage Murders. It's been fun watching Scott grow into the fine actor he has become.

Arik Hartman (Murray)

Arik Hartman, a NYC based actor/improviser, is honored to be working with the cast director and stage crew in his first CGP production!

With seven theatre productions, Murray (The Odd Couple) is his favorite role. Prior plays such as (Arsenic and Old Lace) Lt Rooney/Rev Harper (Love Letters Made Easy) Phil/Roger. His tv shows include  (Daily Show with John Stewart) Construction Worker, (Brain Games) Auction Bidder

William Grammes (Roy)

William is honored to portray Roy in this production of  The Odd Couple. This is William’s first show with The Country Gate Players and would like to thank his friends family and fellow cast members for all the support. Thank you for coming to the show!

Doug Lare (Vinnie)

Doug is a long-time supporter of CGP, but a very recent onstage participant. In  It’s A Wonderful Life, he portrayed Peter Bailey and many other characters. This winter he branched out into our dinner theatre troupe, portaying Ben Barker in Mainstage Murders. We hope he will continue to engage our stage for a long time to come.

Cindi Halkola (Gwendolyn Pigeon)

Colleen Capponi (Cecily Pigeon) Colleen is having a great time working with this cast and crew. There is never a dull moment with this group. Some of Colleen's previous main stage Country Gate performances include Sawyer in Miracle on 34the Street, Forperson in 12 Angry Jurors, Clairee in Steel Magnolias, and the angel Josephine and bank auditor Sadie in It's a Wonderful Life: The 1940's Radio Show.

Meet Our Production Team

JoAnn Mazza (Props and Stage Crew)

Jo Ann made her debut with the Country Gate Playhouse in 1986. She met her husband, Steve in her second show "Father of the Bride". They've been married for 31 years. She has many favorite roles including Frenchy in "Grease" and  Rosie in "Mamma Mia!". She's most proud of her role  as  Honey in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. "  She's enjoyed being a member on stage as well as backstage. She'd like to thank her family and friends for supporting her all these many years.  "The Country Gate Players are my second family and the only  people who can make me laugh so hard that  I wet my pants beside my sisters are Vinny and Bill  my Jersey Diner partners!"

Our audiences will remember Cailla from her outstanding performance in the title role of Sylvia, last year.   An accomplished dancer, Cailla provided some fun moves for our recent production of  It's A Wonderful Life. Cailla is also a favorite in our murder mystery productions.  In real life she's a wife, a mom and dedicated teacher.

Cailla Minerowicz (Props and Stage Crew)

Cullen Delmore (Mics and audio)

Cullen has continued a family tradition at Country Gate both onstage and behind-the-scenes for many years.  Cullen enjoys recording music, the color purple, and taking things apart and (usually) putting them back together. He also loves his sister very much (who wrote this short bio since he didn’t provide one).

Gina Scurato (Set Design, builder and Theatre Manager)

Gina grew up at Country Gate. She has been performing-in and directing shows for 30+ years, continuing her parents’ legacy of bringing local arts to the area. In addition to performing and directing, she can also be found fixing the building, constructing sets, hanging lights, crawling through the ceiling, and organizing theater props/furniture to her OCD heart’s content - in fact, it’s rumored Gina actually lives in the Country Gate walls. Gina loves her sons Lochlan & Calder, Superman, vodka, and cats. She also likes her wife a little (who wrote this bio since she didn’t provide one).

Chelsea Scurato (Set Decoration)

Like Gina, Chelsea also grew up at Country Gate and has continued her parents’ legacy onstage and behind-the-scenes for 30+ years. Most recently, she’s been seen overseeing all scenic design, painting and box office work. By day, she runs a private therapy practice. She also has two amazing daughters, Sophia and Lily.  (Disclosure: bio by her sister-in-law who also thinks Sophia and Lily are amazing.

Steve Mazza (Sound Effects Operator)

Bill Scurato (Director)

Steve has been an active participant with Country Gate for many years.  He met his wife, JoAnn, during our production of Father of The Bride. He and JoAnn are the proud parents of Betsy (pictured) and Gabe.  A busy computer wiz by day, his theatre time is somewhat limited. But we're always glad to have him onboard. We recall his fine performances in Deathtrap, Wait Until Dark, and Our Town. But perhaps, to us, he's most memorable as Wicky Fwickman, the speech impaired dude ranch cowboy in Murder At Melody Ranch.

Cindi is a long-time member of Country Gate. Last season she  performed multiple characters in our production of A. R. Gurney’s Sylvia. In this season's It’s A Wonderful Life she portrayed two mothers with depth and distinction. She's also known as the queen of "table talk" in our murder mystery shows.

Bill is entering his 52nd season as a director and co-founder of Country Gate Players. As an actor, his favorite roles are Willie Loman in Death of a Salesman, Henry Drummond in Inherit the Wind and Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof.  As a director, he's most partial to Teahouse of the August Moon, The Miracle Worker and (of course) The Odd Couple. He spent 35 years in public education before retiring in 2007. He's enjoyed, very much, working with this cast and crew in presenting the classic Neil Simon play. Bill is very proud and grateful for the support of his family and friends.

Dan Mazelis (Oscar Madison)

Dan is very excited to be a part of this production with some beautiful people. He has performed in over 50 productions and loves the unique and magical experience of every one. Dan would like to dedicate this performance to his son, Peace. His theater partner and biggest fan.
